Terms, cancellation and damage when you hire a studio
What to check in a studio’s hire terms: payment, cancellation, damage to a cyc or green screen, and overtime. With examples from studio sites, not general legal advice.

Every studio sets its own rules
There is no nationwide standard for studio hire. What follows are examples of what studios themselves publish, not legal advice. Always ask for the current terms before you book, and get them in writing.
Paying and cancelling
Studio Big Time states that you pay afterwards on invoice, with a 14-day payment term, and that first-time gear hire is prepaid. Mirage3D asks for 75 percent of the hire fee in advance and the rest in the week after the shoot. Cancellation rules are not equally clear on every studio site; ask until when you can move or cancel at no cost.
Damage, cleaning and overtime
Mirage3D mentions a possible €200 repaint charge if the green paint is damaged, forbids walking on the cyc curve, and bills overtime per half hour. Studio Big Time expects you to leave the room tidy and names an hourly rate for substantial overrun if there is no following booking. Those amounts apply only to those studios; do not treat them as a general market rate.
